Commissioned into the IAF in June 2006. Logged 2,000+ flight hours on Su-30 MKI, MiG-29, Jaguar, and Hawk aircraft.
His role as a test pilot showcased his skill in handling advanced aircraft and complex environments – a key factor in his astronaut selection.
In 2019, selected for astronaut training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, Russia. Became part of ISRO’s Gaganyaan Program.
Chosen as a primary crew member for Axiom-4 – India’s proud moment in global space exploration.
Launched to the International Space Station on June 25, 2025 – becoming the second Indian astronaut in space. Conducting scientific research & technology demonstrations aboard the ISS.
